Calming the linen closet

Why do the people who make bed sheets never mark sizes on them? When the linen closet is a jumble, it’s worth taking a couple of hours to identify what goes on which bed, cull worn textiles for recycling, categorize, contain and clearly mark them. Changing the beds is no longer an exercise in frustration!

Protecting the archive.

An institution with 300 years of history has a lot to preserve but may not have taken the time to work out how best to do it. What began as dozens of boxes and shopping bags overflowing with paper, files, artifacts, photos, and ephemera ended up as an Archive Room with protective storage and office space to carry on the work of preserving history.

A bench ready for work.

Projects, tools, materials, and lots and lots of screws, nuts, and unidentified metal objects accumulate on a work bench, which makes it unlikely the next project will get done. Purging, sorting, and labelling created a bench ready to tackle the ‘Honey Do’ list.

Simplifying the office.

When the first thing you see on entering the office is a pile of empty five gallon water bottles awaiting collection, it’s time to reprioritize the use of space. From the basics of connecting desktop computers for better file sharing to installing a safe for secure cash handling to culling the office supply closet, this office is now user and visitor-friendly, calm, orderly, and beautiful.
